Let me start by saying that socialists really bug the crap out of me. This is because they believe that they should be provided everything by the government. Well you know what, the government buying me a house, buying my food, and paying for my healthcare is all fine and dandy until one looks at the bigger picture. Once the government does everything for us, then what? Where will our drive and motivation go? Why should we then be determined to succeed when everything we earn we will be forced to share with everyone else?

I don’t think socialists really stop to think about these things and realize the benefits of capitalism and competition. Competition is what drives our country, what makes it great. With one person always trying to outdo the other, our country keeps growing, our knowledge continues to expand, and our technology continues to get better.

It is true that often times in a capitalistic society some people must start from the bottom. Unfortunately, some of them stay there, either through a fault of their own or due to circumstances that they cannot control. But there are others that work hard and diligently and eventually work their way up to the top. It is when they reach the top that they deserve everything have , whether it be a lot of money or expensive toys, basically things that I can’t afford right now. But the beauty of capitalism is that one day I might be able to have all that money and afford those expensive toys, but it will only happen if I continue to work hard and be honest. Although, if I end up still in the middle class, but I am able to afford a decent place to live, put food on the table, and afford the other necessities, then that is ok too. As long as I can go to bed at the end of the day knowing that I have accomplished these things because of me and no one else (especially not the government), and being proud of myself, then I won’t need all that money to be happy. Knowing that I am surviving in this big, bad world and standing on my own two feet will be enough.

That, my friends, is the benefit of capitlism.
